Mumbai Metro Crossover & Cross Passages – India

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation - J Kumar
2019-2022
MUMBAI INDIA

Endacom were engaged by J Kumar to build one of the most critical aspects of the Mumbai Metro project. Sahara station crossover cavern is 250m long and 18m wide. The project was awarded as design & construct build. Endacom were apart of a JV partnership with Bedi Consulting UK and Normet India.

The JV opted for a shotcrete final lining support method (NATM), instead of a traditional FRP lined cavern. This lowered material cost and shortened the project timeline . This was the first time in Indian metro history that this support method has been used for tunnelling
